About
The Rang De Delhi chapter has been setup to spread the colors of Rang De in Delhi & NCR region. The chapter works towards getting more social investors & field partners besides raising awareness about the novelty of Rang De in providing Micro Credit to the poor. Rang De presents an opportunity to connect to the fellow Indians for a common cause. Explore more at RangDe.Org. The Rang De Delhi Chapter is presided by Rajat Chopra with Anuj Sharma and Aditi as Vice Presidents. Gurinder Khurana ex-president and Founder of Delhi Chapter is working as an Advisor to the Chapter.
How You Can Participate:
a) I want to Lend my Money and become a social investor. For this, register yourself on RangDe.Org and start investing or contact any of the Chapter Members below. Remember, Investments start at Rs. 100 and the amount would be returned to you after the loan cycle (usually one year). Join the group of 950+ strong social investors who have lent to assist the poor borrowers and have added colour to their life (Rang De).
b) I want to Volunteer for Rang De. Just Send an email to any of the Chapter Members below and we would carve out a role for you.
c) I just want to raise Awareness in my network of friends, office colleagues etc. Contact us at the addresses below and we would send you a small PPT and profile that you can distribute. Let us know when people come thanking you as they have in many other organisations.
d) I want to be a HERO for my community. If you decide to do all of the above tasks, i.e. become a social investor, Volunteer and Raise Awareness, we welcome you. Just contact us at any of the email addresses below or call us and we would tell you how to go about it.
In Action!
- The Rang De Delhi Chapter members made a blasting impact at TiE Summit at IIT delhi on 23rd Jan, 2010. The event was also covered by ET NOW. Find the details at TiE_IIT
- Rang De made its mark at one of the Biggest Microfinance Conferences in India-"Microfinance India Conference" held on 26-28th October. It met a large number of potential social investors and field partners.
- "Rang De is one of the strongest platform for micro lending", CEO of Large MNC during the recently held "Sa-dhan" Micro finance Conference in Hotel Ashoka, New Delhi (February 2010). Rang De met with social investors and NGOs at the Conference.
- Rang De Delhi Chapter Meet - Rang De Volunteers, all from different backgrounds took out time for brainstorming session on future activities for Rang De in Delhi. The Meeting at India Habitat Centre (IHC) on 18th April 2010 was followed by dinner, some fun filled moments, and interactive sessions :)
- At the Joy of Giving Week held in MDI campus, Rang De Delhi chapter interacted with students and faculties to raise awareness about micro finance. Talks with other NGOs opened up new possibilities of partnerships.
- Rang De Delhi Chapter Meet - On 31st Oct, 2010. New members were introduced to the chapter even as the roles and responsibilities were enthusiastically discussed to ensure an even better functioning. The volunteers got to know interesting facts about each other at snacks
- Rang De was represented quite well at Mission Micro finance - India's largest Micro finance conference held at IHC during 15 - 17 November 2010, by Abhishek (volunteer). The over arching theme was - "Need to reflect and reaffirm" the micro-finance journey made so far.
- Volunteers of Rang De Delhi Chapter took to the roads during the "Airtel Delhi Half Marathon", on 21st November, 2010. As they jogged, they jogged, their brains too literally on ways to gear up the chapter more.
- The Rang De Delhi Chapter represented Rang De at the 'Manthan Awards South Asia 2010',as one of the finalists on December 17 & 18, 2010 at Hotel Parkland Exotica, Delhi. The Presentation was followed by a variety of questions on microfinance and on our model which were answered to their utmost satisfaction. Though we did not win this time but we networked a lot and raised a word about Rang De. We are sure that now many more people and organisations are aware of our model including the likes of Reliance Industries, Intel Corporation, IL&FS, Government of Gujarat & Delhi, LEAD Innovation Management (Austria), some journalists and other finalists from all corners of South Asia.
- Rang De entered new year with the 'Pravasi Bharatiya Divas - 2011' organised by CII on January 17-18, 2010. Delhi chapter got to represent Rang De to benefit hugely from networks with and among Overseas Indians. Rang De was featured in the PBD newsletter, and that got us more recognition. Many of the NRI individuals/organisations were positively surprised to know that Rang De would complete three years soon. Few even approached us to learn more about our working model so that they could replicate in their countries e.g. Malaysia. In all a fruitful three day conclave!
- RangDe Delhi Chapter had a wonderful screening of the movie 'Nero's Guests' on 19th June 2011 in Dwarka, Delhi.
Attended by over 30 residents of P.N.B. Apartments, who took on the message imparted by the movie whole heartedly, a healthy discussion ensued over lack of awareness about credible means to reach out to the needy. Check out the photos - http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.138864909522315 The major take away was that by organising such screenings for small gatherings too e.g. hostel rooms, apartments community halls or even one's residence, a larger objective of increasing the social awareness of this country can be achieved.
